Please note that The Book of CODESYS is available in two formats:

1. a consolidated single-volume 485-page book (ISBN 978-1737821403), or
2. two smaller 252 and 264-page books (ISBNs 978-1737821410 and 978-1737821427).

The technical contents are identical. The two-volume set was created to address limitations with international book distribution.

The list price of single-volume book is $375 USD, but is being offered at an introductory price of $285 (and $240 for slightly damaged books). The list price for the two-volume set are $195 for Volume 1 and $185 for Volume2.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to purchase the two books in the same order.

Outside the US, the consolidated book can be purchased in Euros or AUD, printed at an international site, and shipped directly to you in 1 to 4 weeks. While at first glance this book may seem expensive, please keep in mind:

1. The book contains a massive amount of information. It is a very large book at 8½ x 11 x 2 inches (22x28x4 cm), almost 200,000 words, 600 graphics, and 500 full-color pages.
2. The only other way to gain this level of information in one place is to attend a $2500.00 CODESYS Intensive training course. This book represents a 90% savings over that option.
3. At the fully burdened cost of most controls engineers and technicians, this book will pay for itself in a very short time versus searching multiple sources for the information, or by trial-and-error.
4. Over 7000 hours have gone into the making of the content of this book, and the book has a narrowly-focused audience. Unfortunately, it does not enjoy the economy of scale of a Harry Potter(tm) book. At current sales rates, it will take many years to break even on the investment.
5. The development of this book is entirely independently created and self-funded. This book is not subsidized by CODESYS, and it can't be used as a loss-leader for other sales. It must stand on its own.
6. This book will need to be frequently updated to keep up with the frequent improvements and enhancements to CODESYS. Therefore, the book must be Print on Demand and cannot benefit from the significant cost savings of higher volume offset printing. This updating represents significant additional ongoing effort which further extends the break-even period.
7. This book is essentially a college textbook, where in comparison, its price is typical.

I understand the physical size/weight of the book can be a significant inconvenience when traveling. Unfortunately, I have not yet found an effective way to release the book in electronic format, without it immediately becoming de facto public domain. With over 7000 hours invested in the making of the book, I would like to at least approach break-even before the IP gets loose. If you have any ideas how to protect an electronic version, please send me an email.

Is the absence of any administration booko on the forum intentional, or is it just an oversight? Is there a specific reason why there is no mention or availability of an administration manual or guide for users to refer to?
